EH2 Profile Sensor for Automotive

Our EH2 profile sensor is an advanced and versatile profilometer, designed to measure both flush and gap between two panels across a wide variety of materials, all with exceptional precision and repeatability. This measurement device is ideal for industries requiring meticulous and detailed quality control. In this post, we will address some of the most frequently asked questions about this innovative product. In the following video, you can see how the system works:

Which type of materials can we do measurements?

The EH2 profile sensor is designed to measure surfaces of many types of materials, including translucent ones like car headlights and glass. Thanks to its blue laser, the device can assess both flush and gap between two panels of different shades and transparencies, providing precise and consistent measurements. This makes it an essential tool for industries working with complex materials or delicate finishes.

What about colours?

Moreover, its ability to measure surfaces of various colors sets it apart from other profilometers on the market. The blue laser is particularly effective in this regard, as it optimally interacts with a wide range of colors, ensuring that measurements are accurate regardless of the surface’s hue.

Precision

The EH2 Metrology Technology is not only precise but also designed with user convenience in mind. Its flexible and portable design allows for comfortable and ergonomic use, which is especially appreciated in industrial environments where the operator needs mobility and ease of use. It fits perfectly in the hand, making it simple and intuitive to handle, even for less experienced operators.

This profilometer has been created to meet user needs, whether in terms of functionality or ergonomics. Its portable format allows it to be used in a variety of work settings, maximizing its utility in projects where mobility and accessibility are essential. This means it’s not only designed to offer measurement precision but also to optimize the operator’s workflow, making the measurement process more efficient and less tiring.

The level of precision offered by the EH2 profile sensor is exceptional. Thanks to its blue laser measurement technology, it can perform evaluations with a level of detail that other devices in its category cannot match. This precision is key for applications requiring very tight tolerances, as each measurement meets exact specifications, minimizing the possibility of errors.  It’s worth mentioning that the measurements taken are automatically recorded on a tablet.

And offline or online solution?

The EH2 profile sensor is used offline for sampling measurements in production. If online measurement is required, the system can be extended with the EH3. The EH3 is essentially the same as the EH2, with the same technology and precision, but it connects directly to the plant’s data network, and the results can be viewed in real time on the finish line screens. For optimal line-free measurement, at least two EH3 units are recommended (one on each side of the car, on each side of the line). Below is a video showing how it works:
